DHP

Correspondence Training

DHP’s correspondence training, the Water Treatment Certification Program (WTCP), is the most comprehensive training that DHP provides. It contains 4,000 pages of highly illustrated text covering all aspects of advanced water treatment.

WTCP is designed so that anyone with a minimum of a high school education can successfully complete the program. From individuals with a high school education to those with an advanced degree wanting to master the field of advanced water treatment, this program will take you to consultant-level knowledge on many aspects of high-tech water treatment.

While we have had hundreds of “regular” water treatment folks rave about the WTCP and how much they learned and how easy it was to follow, in December 2008, we actually had two real “rocket scientists” finish the WTCP. They were from a rocket design-and-build company that is taking the incredibly detailed and sophisticated software and logic approaches used in space and weaponry and applying this to the ever-growing water treatment industries. They see the growth in this market and want to capitalize on it with their special knowledge and skills. Even the rocket scientists raved about the WTCP..

Each course consists of several easy-to-understand self-paced lessons within a highly illustrated textbook. You're taken step-by-step from the basics to highly technical advanced topics. You will probably be amazed at how easy it is to understand the advanced material when you reach it, because you will have mastered the basics by then. The information learned is practical and can be used immediately to increase equipment life, decrease downtime, troubleshoot problems, and reduce operation and maintenance costs.

WTCP Overview

DHP’s correspondence training, the Water Treatment Certification Program (WTCP), is comprised of two certificate programs. Click on the links below for a chapter-by-chapter breakdown of each of the 6 courses per certificate program. The certificate programs are the following:

There are 86 chapters for each certificate program. Each chapter is around 20 pages in length. Each chapter consists of the following:

  • Pre-Test
  • Glossary
  • Highly illustrated text
  • Practice exam (with answers)
  • Exam (taken on line)

Reverse Osmosis Water Treatment Specialist Certificate

The Reverse Osmosis Water Treatment Specialist Certificate is comprised of two levels, each containing three courses. The following provides a brief description of each level:

  • Level 1-Reverse Osmosis Water Treatment (ROWT). ROWT (Level 1) contains 43 chapters designed to establish a solid foundation for understanding any type of water treatment. ROWT completers will thoroughly understand how the reverse osmosis technology works, the common problems encountered, how to excellently monitor a membrane unit, and how to most effectively clean a membrane unit.
  • Level 2-Advanced Reverse Osmosis Water Treatment (AROWT). AROWT (Level 2) contains 43 chapters on advanced pretreatment technologies and membrane unit operation. Level 2 completers will have a lot of knowledge typically only know by experts. Most of what is taught in these chapters will not be obtained by working in the industry or will not be found in any book on reverse osmosis. This information has been gleaned through years of experience and hundreds of books, articles, and technical papers. The information provides practical problem-solving tips and techniques that even many current consultants do not know. It is taught in such a way, however, that anyone with a high school education or equivalent can have expert knowledge in membrane technology.

High Purity Water Treatment Specialist Certificate

The High Purity Water Treatment Specialist Certificate is comprised of two levels, each containing three courses. The following provides a brief description of each level:

  • Level 1-High Purity Water Treatment (HPWT). The highest purity water on earth is found in microelectronics manufacturing plants. The ion exchange technology is currently the only way to achieve the highest purity water quality. The 43 chapters of this level establish a solid foundation for understanding the many technologies required to produce high purity water for any industry. Program completers will thoroughly understand the ion exchange technology, whether in single-bed, dual bed, mixed bed, or full train deionization configurations.
  • Level 2-Advanced High Purity Water Treatment AHPWT. Finishing these 43 chapters qualifies program completers to know how to handle most of the problems that can occur with ion exchange units. Detailed, complex information is presented in a simple, step-by-step method to ensure that every one can become the best ion exchange troubleshooter possible. The design, operation, and maintenance of other high purity water technologies, including ozonation, ultraviolet irradiation, microfiltration and ultrafiltration are also covered. The fundamentals of wastewater neutralization and processing complete a trainee’s thorough understanding of today’s complex, high tech high purity water treatment plants.

DHP Certification or College Degree?

The WTCP may be taken for DHP certification only or for DHP certification AND an Associate of Applied Science (AAS) Degree in Industrial Water Treatment from Arizona Western College. The WTCP accounts for 36 credit hours. There are additional General Education credits required to receive the AAS degree. These are all available to be taken on line. If you have existing college general education credits, they will typically transfer. For details of AAS degree requirements, please click [HERE]. The WTCP may also be taken for Arizona Western College certification only. This certification does not require Genereal Education Credits
